Livelinks website launched

OpenRoad Communications (now OXD) in conjunction with Proximity Canada, recently launched the Livelinks website for Boulevard Media. The Livelinks voice personal service is available in over 175 cities across North America. OpenRoad developed a Java J2EE compliant system running on a BEA Weblogic platform for managing content.

WCB launches multi-subject Clearance Letter

Developed by OpenRoad (now OXD), this application is an upgrade to the previous Clearance Letter application launched by OpenRoad and the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) in April of 2000. The new version allows for the creation of multi-page clearance letter reports, using dynamically generated PDF files.

BC Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security project awarded

Karo and OpenRoad have been awarded an application redesign project for the Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security (SDES). This project will utilize Karo and OpenRoad’s usability, information architecture, and visual design talents to enhance and redeploy an existing Ministry Intranet application.

OpenRoad to speak at JavaOne

OpenRoad President Darren Gibbons and Senior Java Architect Jeff Pennal have been selected to speak at the upcoming 2001 JavaOne Conference to be held in San Francisco this June. Gibbons and Pennal will be speaking on the challenges of migrating Microsoft web applications to a Java environment.

OpenRoad extends WCB Clearance application

OpenRoad (now OXD) is working with the Workers Compensation Board of BC (WCB) on extending the capabilities of its online clearance letter application. The application informs users whether a business, contractor or subcontractor is registered with the WCB and paying regular premiums all via the WCB’s public website.

webBASIS strategy work

Karo and OpenRoad (now OXD) have recently completed a strategy and usability engagement for webBASIS, a provider of e-business productivity software. The California-based company allows businesses and organizations to communicate and conduct business through the Internet through a combination of software solutions, Internet data centre hosting and network management services, data storage, and consulting services.
