Darren Gibbons speaks at Comdex on internet-connected remote office

OpenRoad President Darren Gibbons spoke to a standing-room only session at Comdex 2000 in Vancouver. He co-presented with Ruth Johnson, President of ITEC Corp., on the Internet-Connected Remote Office. Darren covered remote file sharing systems, firewalls and security issues, remote application servers, intranet software, and remote desktops during his presentation.

OpenRoad President speaks at VanJUG

Darren Gibbons, President of OpenRoad, recently spoke on Sun’s Java Server Pages specification. A technology overview, the specification’s status, and sample code demonstrations were all performed for Vancouver’s Java User Group (VanJUG) at BCIT. The VanJUG was founded by OpenRoad in 1995.

OpenRoad speaks on XML at VOLUG

Gordon Ross, Director, recently spoke on XML for the Vancouver Online Librarians User’s Group (VOLUG) at the Vancouver Public Library. VOLUG, an organization of more than 100 librarians and information professionals, was presented with an introduction to XML and its key strengths, covering its history and basic markup theory.
