The San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) has invited OXD and TransLink to share a case study and discuss human-centred design, fare policy, and transportation futures for the Bay Area at Transit + Design.
Our Vice President Gordon Ross will be presenting a case study alongside Andrew Devlin, TransLink’s Manager, Policy Development at SPUR’s fifth annual Transit + Design event. The pair will be talking about how OXD helped TransLink bring design thinking to its Fare Review. They’ll share project reflections and discuss the intersection of understanding customer experience and making evidence-based policy recommendations.
Following the presentation they’ll be joined by Senior User Experience Designer Winnie Ho to facilitate a Future Backwards workshop. This is an alternative strategic planning method that will help participants contemplate and compare possible public transit futures in the Bay Area.
SPUR is a member-supported nonprofit and a leading civic planning organization dedicated to developing solutions for the Bay Area. They bring stakeholders from across the political spectrum together to address seven policy areas, including Good Government, Housing, and Transportation. Their Transportation Agenda includes increasing capacity and speed for key services, integrating the region’s many transit operators to create a seamless experience for riders, and controlling transit costs.
