Amanda Chan

UX and Service Designer

Amanda is a User Experience (UX) and Service Designer at OXD. She takes a human-centred approach to create fluid experiences that have a positive impact on people. She connects with people to understand their diverse views, then turns those insights into user-friendly design solutions.

Before joining OXD, Amanda worked as a product designer for a healthcare technology company, supporting providers in empowering patients to take an active role in their own care. At OXD, she’s worked with clients including BC Parks, the Superior Courts Judiciary, and the University of British Columbia. Amanda has led and supported research and design for public websites and internal tools in Agile environments. She digs into the factors that shape the end-user experience, then works closely with developers to turn design solutions into reality.

Amanda studied a joint major in Marketing and Design at Simon Fraser University and later completed the UX Design program at RED Academy for more hands-on experience. Outside of work, you’ll find her trying new restaurants, travelling the globe to explore new cultures and their food, and cooking recipes inspired by the places she’s visited.
