Michael Olund
Software Development Manager
As Software Development Manager and Full-Stack Developer, Michael mentors and collaborates with our development team to tackle some of the most challenging technical requirements for our clients. With a strong emphasis on back-end technologies, DevOps, and continuous integration practices, Michael helps us deliver user-focused, scalable solutions to our clients. He brings deep expertise in database design, API development, and server-side programming using Node.js, Python, and .NET to our projects.
Since joining OXD in 1997, Michael has led the development of complex, high-traffic web applications for both public and private sector clients. His recent work includes key projects for the Government of British Columbia, such as the BC Parks website and the WorkBC Job Board. He has served as lead developer on major initiatives for TReO, Kernaghan Adjusters, and numerous mission-critical projects for the courts in British Columbia and Alberta.
Michael holds a business degree from Simon Fraser University and has experience in roles ranging from business analyst to architect and lead developer throughout his career.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, taking long bike rides, and enjoying the outdoors camping and hiking.
